Blown molded lead glass production in the American Northeast between 1820 and 1840 occupied a narrow technical window: glasshouses had mastered the contact mold but not yet adopted the press, making each covered form a record of breath forced into patterned iron. The sugar bowl at five inches tall is a domestic object scaled to a table, not a display case.
